Located on a hilltop overlooking the majestic Paro valley, the Uma Paro hotel is a 15-minute drive away from Paro international airport. One of the first 5-star rated hotels in Bhutan, it has lived up to its name of UMA, which implies a Living House in Sanskrit. It offers a perfect balance of tradition and luxury, which is largely understated in a rustic fashion; incorporating indigenous healing therapies such as hot stone bath and national sports archery.
Uma Paro is co-owned by COMO hotels resort and Dasho Tobgyal Dorji Wangchuk. The project was one of the first foreign direct investments in Bhutan and has been instrumental in providing top class accommodation and service benchmark in Bhutanese hospitality industry. It supports more than 200 Bhutanese by providing employment and support local business via direct purchase of consumer goods.
